Whilst at Tiliva Resort guests can enjoy any of the following:
Diving
Tiliva Resort is about ten minutes from the famous Astrolabe Reef, the world’s third largest reef. Below are some of the names of the dive sites offering hard and soft corals, drift dives, rays and turtles just waiting to be explored.
Naiqoro Passage, Vessi Passage, Purple Wall and Split Rock to name but a few! Waisomo Reserve (the only reserve on Kadavu) is just across the bay from Tiliva Resort. The diving on Kadavu is suitable for all from the advanced to the
novice.
Why not learn to dive and take a PADI Open Water Course or a one day PADI Discover Scuba whilst at the resort
Snorkeling
Enjoy snorkelling on the house reef, or snorkel on the Astrolabe Reef to see the corals and an abundance of small fish. Take a pic-nic and make a day of it!
Kayaking
Take one of the kayaks to explore the coastline. Kayak to Kavala Bay or up the coastline, stop along the way on one of the deserted beaches – look out for the best places to snorkel and enjoy the crystal clear waters.
For the experienced kayaker, why not kayak to the island of Ono. Take a picnic lunch, kayak around Ono, enjoy the isolated beaches and pristine water. Return to Tiliva Resort or stay the night at another resort on Ono returning to Tiliva the following day.
Game Fishing
"This is the kind of place that’s got marlin written all over it”
BlueWater Magazine Oct/Nov 2004
Troll or popper through the myriad of reefs and crowded shoals on light tackle for mackerel and giant trevally or test your strength and agility on the drop –offs as dogtooth tuna, wahoo, mahi mahi and sailfish succumb to your lure.
For those of you heading to Fiji with marlin on your mind prepare to be amazed as you raise these beauties from the deep by working the abundant bait schools, current lines and seamounts synonymous to this angling frontier.
Trekking
Take a trip to the waterfall with a guide past the village and local school, through the rainforest and arrive at the waterfall, look out for the parrot and the Kadavu Honeyeater. Jump into the pool for a refreshing swim. Take the boat back to the resort.
Village & School Visit
A visit to the village or school must be requested in advance. Guests will be brought into the village by a staff member who will show you around, or why not attend the church service on Sunday to listen to the wonderful singing
Boat Trips & Picnics
Take a picnic on one of the remote beaches. The boatman will drop you and pick you up at an agreed time. Relax, read a book, collect shells and enjoy the cooling sea breeze.
Bird Watching
Have your own guide to help you see some of the endemic birds, for example the Kadavu Shining Parrot, The Kadavu Fantail and the Whistling Dove, all of which are found only on Kadavu
Medicinal Tour of Indigenous Plants
There are over 30 native plants in the gardens that are still used today for medicinal purposes. Take a guided tour with the local medicine man and taste some of the medicine.
Handicraft
Participate in some of the local handicraft - making a basket or weave a mat. Try making a hat from palm leaves.
